Second Section of the Department of Neurosurgery
The Department of Functional Neurosurgery (the Second Department of Surgery for short) is one of the key departments of the hospital. Professor Cheng Liangzheng, the national famous stereotactic and functional neurosurgical scholar, participates in the department building and clinical diagnosis and treatment all the way. Professions Li Ling and Tan Qifu, the famous functional neurosurgical experts, take part in and provide guidance for the technical work directly in different development periods of the hospital, laying a solid foundation for the department.
At present, under the leadership of Vice-president Zhu Dan, the department is mainly engaged in the complex treatment of epilepsy featured by surgery, the treatment of dyskinesia, such as Parkinson’s disease, torsion spasm and intention tremor, the stereotactic treatment of mental and psychological diseases, the stereotactic treatment of drug addiction withdrawal and refractory pain, stereotactic biopsy of intracranial lesions, stereotactic volumetric resection of intracranial space occupying lesions, stereotactic treatment of spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage and neuroendoscopy treatment of cystic craniopharyngioma, arachnoid cyst, obstructive hydrocephalus, etc.
