Tumor Neurosurgery Center
It is a key department of the hospital, which is a comprehensive department of neurosurgery focusing on the operation and interventional treatment of various brain tumors, brain diseases and cerebrovascular diseases.
Among the medical team of the department, there are 3 with senior technical title, 5 with middle title, 1 with doctor’s degree and 3 with master’s degree. There are 49 permanent beds. Professor Huang Qin, a well-known expert in neurosurgery, serves as the chief expert, and Vice-president Zhang Jian serves as the department leader.
In addition to relying on the large-scale equipment for the public support in the hospital, the department is configured with the first-class special equipment in China. It has 4 imported high-end surgical microscopes, automatic navigation system for brain surgery manufactured by the U.S. Brainlab Corporation (representing the high level of brain surgical equipment), imported nerve endoscope system, ultrasonic aspirators, magnetic knife, contact-type semiconductor laser knife and digital subtraction angiography X-ray machine produced by the U.S., which are worth more than RMB 90 million in total. Over the years, the department has completed more than 3,000 cases of brain surgery, in which most are severe trauma or complex surgeries (such as brain stem tumors, giant petroclival meningiomas, sphenoid ridge, giant brain tumors in saddle area, aneurysm, etc.), ranking at the domestic advanced level in respect of surgical success rate and perioperative mortality rate. In comparison with the large general hospitals in the province, one-fourth of the treatment costs can be saved for the patients in case of similar surgeries.
It has completed more than 10 provincial and municipal scientific research projects, and published more than 100 clinical academic papers in the foreign and domestic journals.
