Rehabilitation Training Center
The center highlights four departments, that is, neurological rehabilitation department, children’s rehabilitation department, rehabilitation department of traditional Chinese medicine, pain treatment department. It consists of adult exercise therapy room, occupational therapy room, Chinese medicine treatment room for adults, exercise therapy room for children, sensory integration training room for children, Chinese medicine treatment room for children, physical therapy room, dysphagia treatment room, speech training room, coma and vegetative state awakening room, small needle-knife therapy room, pain treatment room, Chinese medicine treatment room for insomnia, fumigation treatment room, balance disorder treatment room, chiropractic massage treatment room and medical engineering (orthoses) room.
The rehabilitation training centre of our hospital was established in 2001. In reliance on the advantages of brain specialty and the hospital leadership’s attention on the subject, it is quickly developed into a large-scale well-equipped rehabilitation training center in Guangdong with complete departments and offices and mature medical knowledge and skills. Staffed with 28 professional rehabilitation therapists, the treatment area of the center totals 1,200 square meters. Upon its establishment 9 years ago, the center provides service for 40 thousand patient-times every year.
Keeping pace with the development of rehabilitation medicine, the center actively introduces various types of rehabilitation equipment worth about RMB 3.5 million, including the U.S. smart dynamic balance treatment system, advanced brain feedback training platform, the British transcranial magnetic stimulators, speech treatment system, weight loss training system, advanced cerebellar fastigial nucleus stimulators, the U.S. swallowing therapy instrument, the Japanese ultra-short wave, low frequency and microwave apparatuses, etc, which provide a superior platform for the rehabilitation of patients. The U.S. smart dynamic balance treatment system is a large-scale diagnostic and curative platform for balance disorders firstly introduced in China, which provides good conditions for the treatment of the patients with balance disorders in our hospital. In full cooperation with the department of clinical neurology and neurosurgery, department of psychology, section of cerebral palsy and section of neurological rehabilitation, the rehabilitation training center makes full use of the limited rehabilitation resources and forms a “great rehabilitation” mode with Sanjiu characteristics. Through early intervention and treatment standardization, the center works with the clinicians to develop special rehabilitation and treatment programs suitable for the patients, so that the speed and quality of patient recovery are much improved.
Through combining the Chinese medicine with the Western medicine and integrating traditional rehabilitation with modern rehabilitation, the center has achieved satisfactory curative effect for the following diseases:
1. Traumas and motor dysfunctions after stroke, coma and vegetative state awakening, dysfunction after cancer surgery.
2. Cerebral palsy rehabilitation, functional rehabilitation after cerebral palsy surgery, mental retardation, autism, autism and ADHD.
3. Systematic rehabilitation and treatment of headache, dizziness, insomnia, depression and neurosis.
4. Neck, shoulder, waist, leg and back pain, bone hyperplasia pain, soft tissue injury pain, rheumatic pain, neuralgia, herpetic pain.
